Warning over Yellow Pages Scam
Businesses are being advised to look out for fraudsters posing as call centre sales agents from the Yellow Pages.
YellowPages24 has been misleading businesses into paying up to £600 for adverts, which they think will appear in genuine Yellow Pages directory, but no adverts are forthcoming.
Businesses are advised to be diligent and ensure that they are dealing with Yell Ltd for their Yellow Pages advertising.
Trader's should note that the genuine Yellow Pages does offer preferential rates to BWC members but if they are unsure about any call they receive purporting to be from Yellow Pages they should ask for a confirmation email. All genuine Yellow Pages email addresses end with the suffix '@yellgroup.com' Further advice can be obtained from the Trading Standards Service if you think you have been targeted by a scam.
